Certification, What’s In It For The Customer?

Finding qualified contractors in the residential service trades is always a challenge for the homeowner. Most homeowners learn by trial and error at great risk and expense. KPS, Inc. went through the PDCA Certification Program to provide homeowners with a third party confirmation source concerning our business of painting and decorating (see proclamation below for details of certification).

PDCA Certification is not to be confused with franchise certification programs.

PDCA Certification is a certification earned by an independent review of professional peers by the only professional association of residential, commercial and industrial painters in the USA.

Proclamation of Certification

This proclaims that Karm’s Painting Service, Inc. has received the designation of Certified Residential Painting Contractor Number 55 from the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America by maintaining the highest standards of professionalism in operating a painting business.

To become certified, members of PDCA must prove that they have necessary and appropriate insurance coverage’s, follow approved accounting procedures, have implemented a safety program for employees in accordance with OSHA regulations, understand the principles of estimating, and have sufficient trade skills to deal with most application issues. The program requires contractors to submit examples of company documents and then take a three-hour examination.

The Painting and Decorating Contractors of America, as the only national trade association for professional painting contractors, seeks to support, promote, and educate its members. Certification is reserved for those members who work on residential projects and have demonstrated the necessary attention to the high standards required. Certified contractors have shown that they care about their industry, are operating their businesses at the highest standards, and are committed to satisfying their customers. Only PDCA Certified Residential Painting Contractors are licensed to display the seal found at the bottom of this page.
